Prior to the Cutting the Ties that Bind unique one-day seminar at the beautiful urban retreat center in the heart of Gràcia, Barcelona on November 15, we take some time to chat with SOAR Coaching founder Deepika Bhoolabhai about the connections between her work and CTB.
I know you have personal experience of the Cutting the Ties that Bind method - do you see a lot of overlap with it and the mindset coaching and mentoring that SOAR offers?
Absolutely. Cutting the Ties that Bind (CTB) is so complementary to my coaching work — and to my own inner journey. It’s literally a tool for breaking old programs, patterns, and beliefs that keep us stuck and prevent us from evolving.
I’m quite sensitive to energy, and when I first started using this method, I immediately felt how powerful it was. The first “cut” I did was from all the old paradigms, beliefs, and emotional patterns I had unconsciously taken on from my mother. Some I was aware of — others I wasn’t.
When I experienced that shift, I knew other people needed to know about it too. I often hear clients say: “I know I have this pattern, but I don’t know how to change it.”
Do people who sign up for the workshop need to have some experience in similar workshops before, or is it suitable for absolute beginners?
It’s totally suitable for beginners. All you need is the ability to visualize. People often think that powerful methods have to be complicated — but that’s not true. This work is simple, yet incredibly deep. You don’t need any previous experience, just an open mind, an awareness that there’s something you want to change, and the motivation to change it.
What do you think will be the main takeaway for participants in the workshop? Will it be a transformational experience for everyone?
There are many layers to this workshop. I believe each person will walk away with one, two, or even many new insights that make a real difference in their lives.
If you’re open and ready, this experience will be transformational. The biggest takeaway for most people is realizing how simple it can be to actually do something about it.
